My Background with CEC
I teach an exploratory seminar at MIT’s Edgerton Center, where learners and I observe, explore, experiment and discuss in response to nature, science, history, art, and each other. Surprises, depths and wonder emerge as we collaborate, experiment and observe. Becoming explorers in the unknown together uncovers uncertainties, questions and creative activities. We come into dialogue with each other, historical investigators and other voices of the past and to come. The pedagogy of critical exploration in the classroom integrates across this teaching and researching, developing from my doctoral studies at Harvard Graduate School of Education, with adviser Eleanor Duckworth.
